Down in Kistapuram Village, we run the mill at Sy. No. 63 64. It’s a quiet area most of the time, except when the tractors are coming in. We've got a decent amount of space out here. Most of the folks working here live nearby. We don't really have a big corporate setup. It is just a regular rice mill where we process what comes from the fields around us. Some days it is very slow, and we just clean the equipment or fix the roof. Then it gets busy and everyone is working double shifts. The weather really dictates how our week goes. If it rains, things slow down quite a bit. We've been part of this village for a long time. People know us as the place with the big silos. We don't bother with much else besides the rice. It is a messy job sometimes with all the husks flying around. We keep a small notebook for all our records instead of fancy computers. It’s simpler that way for us. My hands are usually rough from handling the sacks all day. We just try to do an honest job and get home to our families. It’s a practical way to make a living in a place like Kistapuram. The work can be exhausting, but seeing the finished bags stacked up makes it feel okay. We just keep the machinery running and watch the seasons change around the mill.
