Keerthi Rice Industry

My family has been at 596/21 in Nalgonda for a while now. We run Keerthi Rice Industry here. Most days start early before the sun is even fully up. We have the machines running and the smell of grain is everywhere. It gets dusty in the shed, but that is just how it is. People come by the gate all morning. We handle the paddy that comes in from local trucks. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. It is not fancy work. We just look at the bags and make sure everything is moving right. My cousin helps with the loading and moving stuff around the yard. Nalgonda gets really hot in the summer months, so we try to get the heavy lifting done before noon. We have been in this spot for years and all the neighbors know us. The walls could use some paint, honestly. But the rice keeps coming in and we keep busy. It is just a regular life here. Sometimes we have tea by the front desk when things slow down in the afternoon. We do not have a big office or anything, just a desk and some old chairs. It is loud when the hullers are on. You get used to the noise after a few days. We just keep the place going one day at a time and try to keep the machinery from breaking down too often.
