Ikkath Sarees

Our shop, Ikkath Sarees, is located at Shop 4-144 in Laxman Nagar, Pochampalli. You can’t really miss us because we’re right opposite the SBI Bank. Being here in Pochampalli, you hear the sound of the looms all day, which is just part of life in this town. We have a lot of different sarees tucked away on the shelves, and we spend our time pulling them out one by one to show the patterns to whoever stops by. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding, honestly. The light in the shop is okay, but sometimes we have to take the sarees out to the front door so people can see the real color in the sunlight. The SBI Bank across the street is a good landmark because people are always going in and out of there, and sometimes they wander over to see what we have. We keep things pretty simple here. There aren't any fancy displays or anything, just rows of sarees that we try to keep organized by color and price. The dust from the road comes in, so we’re always cleaning the glass counters and the floor. It’s a small place, but it keeps us busy from the time we open until the sun goes down. We usually have a bit of a rush on the weekends when people travel into Laxman Nagar to look at the local weaving work.
