Galamma Cattle Rearing

My name is Galamma and I run my cattle rearing work from house 5-82 in Harijanawada, Jangam. This house has been our base for a very long time. Raising cattle isn't something you do if you want an easy life. It’s a lot of sweat and dirt. I start my day very early, making sure the cows are milked and fed. We don't have any fancy equipment, so we do everything by hand. The water has to be carried from the pump, and the stalls have to be scrubbed out daily. It's a lot of work for one person, so my family helps whenever they are free. We don't have any big marketing or polished words to describe what we do. It's just raising animals in the back of our house. We are right in the middle of Harijanawada, so there are neighbors all around us. We have to be careful to keep things as clean as possible so nobody complains about the smell. The cows are generally quiet, but they have their moments when they are hungry or the weather is changing. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything like that. We just want to keep doing what we've always done. It’s a practical way to earn a living and it keeps us busy. Every day brings its own set of chores and we just get through them one by one until the sun sets and we can finally rest.
