Amrm Junior College

Amrm Junior College sits at 3-1-2/A, right near the Hanuman Temple in Narketpally. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers sometimes. The road out front can get dusty when the trucks pass by on the highway nearby. We are in the Nalgonda district, so it gets very hot in the summer. Our building is a simple concrete structure with several rooms for the intermediate students. Most of our students are trying to get into good degree courses, so they are quite serious. We have a small staff room where we sit and mark papers. The fans make a lot of noise, but we need them. We don’t have a big cafeteria, so most students bring their own lunch boxes and eat together in the rooms. We know most of the people around here. It’s a small town feel where everyone knows everyone’s business. We keep the gate closed during class hours to keep the stray dogs out. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait for it to come back. It’s not a fancy college with a lot of money. We just provide a place for these young people to study. We handle the admissions and the exam forms ourselves. It is a lot of work, but we are used to it by now. The temple next door is a good landmark for people visiting us for the first time.
