Ankit Dalmil

Our place, Ankit Dalmil, is situated out near the Danapur Railway Station in the village of Usri Khurd, which some people also call Kothia. If you look for the big power grid, we are right near there. It’s a bit of a walk from the main station area but not too far. Living and working in a village like Usri Khurd means things move at a certain pace. We are a dal mill, so we deal with the crops and the milling process throughout the seasons. Being near the power grid is handy as a landmark when people are trying to find us for the first time. The sound of the trains in the distance is something we hear all day and night. It reminds us that we are connected to the rest of the world even if we are just a small mill in a village. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We work in the shed and the mill area where the actual labor happens. It’s dusty and loud, but it is what we know. We are just local folks running a business the best way we know how. We don't have any big corporate goals or mission statements. We just want to get the milling done and make sure the bags are filled and moved out to where they need to go. That is our daily life here in Danapur and we are okay with it.
