M. S. Rice Mills

M. S. Rice Mills is tucked away in Barirai Village, which is part of the Gadarpur Tehsil in Udham Singh Nagar. Being in a village means we are right where the rice is actually grown. It’s a lot quieter here than in the big towns, except for when the mill is running. We started this place because the farmers nearby needed somewhere to take their grain without traveling too far. The mill is a basic setup, but we keep it in good repair. We have a few sheds for storage and a big open area where the tractors can park. I usually handle the grain testing myself. You can tell a lot about the quality just by the feel of it in your hand. We don't have any shiny brochures or a sales team. If you need us, you just drive down the village road and look for the big gate. Life here follows the seasons. When it’s harvest time, we work long hours into the night. When it’s the off-season, we spend time painting the walls and servicing the engines. It’s a simple cycle. The workers are like family, and we often eat lunch together in the shade of the banyan tree nearby. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is important for the village. We just try to be fair and keep things moving. The smell of fresh rice is something we all enjoy at the end of a long shift.
