Joshi Aata Chakki

Joshi Aata Chakki is over in Village Haldwani, specifically in the Shiv Puram Phase-I colony. We are located right in the heart of the community here. Our main work is running the flour mill, or what everyone calls an aata chakki. People from the Shiv Puram area bring their own grain to us, and we grind it into fresh flour for them while they wait or they pick it up later. It is a very traditional kind of business. The machines make a lot of noise and there is always a fine layer of flour dust on everything, but that's just how it is. We aren't a big industrial mill; we're a local service for the people living nearby. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time, and we know most of our customers by their first names. It’s a simple life here in Haldwani. We don't have a website or a sales team. We just open the doors in the morning and start the motors. Sometimes the power cuts out, which is common in this part of Tehsil Haldwani, and then we just have to wait it out. It can be frustrating, but our customers understand. We focus on doing a decent job with the grinding and keeping the place running as best as we can. It's dusty work but someone has to do it.
