Cafe Big Mo

We've been at this spot in Bhotia Parao for a while now. If you head behind Hotel Maharani in Haldwani, you will find us tucked away there. It is not a flashy place, just a regular cafe where we spend most of our mornings getting the kitchen ready and making sure the chairs are in the right spot. The 263139 area gets busy, especially with the traffic nearby, but it stays relatively quiet back here. Most days start around the same time when the milk delivery comes in. We usually just prop the door open and start on the first batch of orders. Sometimes the weather in Haldwani is a bit unpredictable, so we spend time moving things around to keep the rain out or finding a cooler spot for people to sit when it gets too hot. There is a lot of cleaning to do, mostly wiping down tables and sweeping the floor after the lunch rush. It is just me and a couple of others working here most days. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the name Cafe Big Mo on the front. We mostly see the same faces every day, people from around the neighborhood or folks staying at the hotel nearby. It is just a regular job for us, keeping the place running and making sure there is enough sugar and coffee in the pantry. We just keep things moving and try to stay organized behind the counter. Most of the time it is just about making sure the inventory is right and the stove is working.
