Vinod Kirana &A Provision

Our shop sits on Old Bhandara Road over in Hansapuri, right near Nal Shaeb Chowk here in Nagpur. If you know this area, you know how much traffic passes through that intersection every single day. It can get pretty noisy with all the horns and people rushing by to get to work. We have been running Vinod Kirana & Provision for a long time. It is a basic place where we keep all the household staples. There are big bins of grains and pulses, and a good part of the day is spent weighing out portions for customers into plastic bags. Sometimes someone just wants a small bag of sugar, while other times it is a whole month's supply of provisions for a big family. We also keep things like tea leaves, spices, and cleaning supplies on the back shelves. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much stock as possible into the space we have available. It gets really hot in Nagpur during the summer months, so we usually have the fan going full blast while we work behind the counter. The neighbors from around Hansapuri stop in often, sometimes just to say hello while they pick up their daily milk or some bread. We know which brand of cooking oil most of the local families prefer. It is not a fancy supermarket, just a local spot where things are done the old way. We take down lists on scraps of paper and keep everything moving as best as we can every day.
