Up here in Mauda, life revolves around the seasons. Vikshit Shetkari is based at House Number 280 in Ward Number 1, right in Nagpur Kharda. We are just local farmers who wanted to do things a bit differently. Usually, everyone does their own thing and then wonders why the middleman takes all the profit. So, we got together. The name means 'developed farmer,' but we are still learning every single day. Nagpur is known for certain things, but for us in Mauda, it’s just about getting the work done. We don't have a big staff or a fancy office. It’s just a room where we keep our records and meet up. Sometimes the paperwork is a headache, but it’s worth it to have some control over our own lives. We talk about fertilizers and the cost of diesel. Simple things that actually matter. The weather hasn't been very kind lately, so we've had to help each other out more than usual. We don't put on any acts. If you come by, you’ll see us in our regular clothes, probably covered in a bit of mud. We are just trying to get a fair shake for the hard work we put in. It’s not about getting rich, it’s about surviving and making sure our kids have a future on this land. That's really all there is to it.
