Vijay Kirana

Vijay Kirana is located at Shop No. 46 in the Grain Market, right in Bhalotia Galli. We are near the old Amardeep Talkies in the Itwari area. If you’ve ever been to Itwari, you know how crowded and narrow the lanes are. Bhalotia Galli is no different. Our shop is small and filled to the ceiling with sacks of grain, pulses, and other daily essentials. The smell of the market is something you never forget—a mix of spices and earth. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and some of our customers have been coming to us since they were children. It’s a very traditional way of shopping. You come in, tell us what you need, and we weigh it out for you on the scales. There’s no self-service here. We don't have fancy packaging or bright lights. It’s just the same wooden counters and metal bins we’ve used for years. The market gets very loud with all the porters and carts moving through the galli. Sometimes we can hear the music from the movies playing nearby. We work long hours, from early morning until the market finally quietens down at night. We don't have a mission statement or any big plans. We just want to make sure the grain is good and the weight is right. It’s a simple, honest business in the heart of the city. We just stay here and serve whoever walks through the door.
