Vidarbharaja Bhiwapur Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are based at Pitambar Laxman Talmale’s house, number 35, in Adyal. This is in the Bhiwapur area. Our company is called Vidarbharaja Bhiwapur Farmer Producer Company Limited. The Vidarbha region is where we live and work, and it’s a tough place for farming sometimes. We formed this group because we wanted to have a bit more say in how our produce is sold in the market. Most of the people involved are neighbors from around Adyal village. We spend most of our time in the fields, but the office work happens at Pitambar’s place. It’s not a formal office like you’d see in a big city. It’s just a house where we keep the registers and talk about the harvest over tea. We deal with whatever the season brings, whether it’s chilies or other crops common to the Bhiwapur soil. Some days are definitely better than others. We don't use big words or have complicated business strategies. It’s just about getting the daily work done and trying to make sure everyone gets a fair share for their labor. We help each other with advice on soil or where to get the best equipment for a decent price. It’s a community thing. Being in a rural part of Bhiwapur, we stay focused on the ground and the people we know. We are just trying to keep the farming tradition alive for another generation.
