Vidarbha Sahakari Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of House No 477 in Kaneri. This is Anil Shriram Sulkar’s place, and it’s where we get together to talk shop. Akola gets really hot, as anyone living here knows, and that makes farming a tough job some years. We decided to start this group because individual farmers were struggling to get fair deals. We aren't trying to be some big corporation with suits and ties. We’re just local folks from the 444302 zip code who know the land. Most days are spent out in the fields, but we meet up here to figure out our next steps. It's hard work, and sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should. By working together as a producer company, we can share tools or buy things in bulk which saves us a few rupees. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us. Anil keeps the books and makes sure we stay on track with the rules. We’ve lived in Akola all our lives, so we know the community well. The goal is just to keep our farms running and our families fed. It’s a simple life, and we like it that way. If you’re looking for us, we’re usually around Kaneri village. We just take it one season at a time and try to help each other out when the going gets tough. That is enough for us to keep going.
