Tidke Kirana & General Store

If you are driving down Saoner Road in Kalmeshwer, you will probably see our place. Tidke Kirana & General Store is right there on the main stretch. It’s a simple spot, honestly. We have been here for a good number of years now, serving the people who live nearby and those just passing through. The road can get quite dusty with all the trucks, but we try to keep the shop clean enough. We stock the basic kirana items that everyone needs for their daily cooking. You’ll find pulses, oil, spices, and things like that. We also have some general items, maybe some toiletries or small household goods. It isn’t a fancy shopping experience. You come in, tell me what you need, and I get it for you. Sometimes I have to go look in the storeroom if someone wants a bulk order of something. Kalmeshwer is a place where people still know each other, so we spend a lot of time just talking. I know whose kid is going to school and who is getting married soon. That’s the best part of having a shop on Saoner Road. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just open up in the morning and wait for the first customer to arrive. It’s a steady way to live. We’ve seen the road change over time, but the store stays pretty much the same year after year. It is a quiet existence but we like it.
