Swami Samarth General Stores

Shashtri Nagar is a quiet enough area, even if Bhandara Road itself is quite loud. I opened Swami Samarth General Stores because there wasn't a place close by for the families here to get their daily stuff without walking too far. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a blue shutter and some racks of chips hanging by the door. I try to keep the staples like cooking oil, spices, and washing powder always in stock. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and I have to explain to the aunties why their favorite brand of flour isn't here yet. It gets a bit chaotic on Sunday mornings when everyone decides to shop at the same time. I’ve lived in Nagpur 440002 my whole life, so I’ve seen how this neighborhood has changed. There used to be more trees, now it’s just more houses and shops. I do the billing myself and try to keep things organized, though my desk is usually covered in receipts and old pens. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the next person to come in, but I like the chat. You hear all the local gossip standing behind a counter like this. It’s just a regular way to make a living and keep the neighborhood running with whatever they need for their homes. I don't see myself doing anything else for a while.
