Shree Om Furniture

I’ve been running Shree Om Furniture in the Manish Nagar area for quite some time now. Our shop is located in Somalwada, right by the railway gate. If you know the area, you know exactly where that is because everyone has to wait there when the gate closes. It gets pretty loud with the trains passing by constantly, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We mostly focus on making wooden pieces for people's homes around here. Sometimes the shop gets really dusty from all the sawing and sanding, and my hands are usually covered in wood shavings by the end of the day. It’s just how it is when you’re working with your hands. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights and fancy displays. It’s a practical space where we put things together. People from Manish Nagar usually just drop in when they need a cupboard fixed or a new bed frame made. It’s a small operation. We don’t really do much advertising because the location near the gate gets enough people looking in while they wait for the trains. Dealing with wood is hard work, especially in the heat, but it keeps us busy. We just try to get the jobs done so families have what they need for their houses. It’s a simple life here in Somalwada. We just keep the tools moving and hope the railway gate doesn't stay shut too long when we're trying to move stuff out to customers.
