Sati Ansuya Books & Stationers

Our shop is at number 67 in the Swami Vistar Apartment building, right in Trimurti Nagar. It’s a residential area mostly, so we get a lot of kids coming in for school supplies. Sati Ansuya Books & Stationers is the name we went with. The shelves are pretty packed with notebooks, pens, and all kinds of textbooks. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to fit in as much as possible. You’ll see stacks of paper and rows of pencils everywhere you look. During the start of the school season, it gets really crowded in here. Parents are always looking for specific editions of books. We try to keep up with what the local schools are asking for. It’s mostly just me behind the counter, though my nephew helps out on the weekends. We have a small stool in the corner if someone needs to sit and wait. The bell on the door rings all day long. Sometimes we run out of the popular ink pens, and then we have to wait for the next delivery. It’s a quiet life otherwise. We know most of the families in the apartment building and the surrounding streets. We don’t do any fancy marketing. People just know we’re here when they need a highlighter or a new diary. It’s just a regular neighborhood bookshop, nothing more, nothing less. We spend a lot of time dusting the top shelves because books collect it fast. It’s a simple business but it keeps us busy.
