You can find us over at Ajani Sherdi, staying with Shri M. K. Hakande. We call ourselves Saptagiri Gaujagrity And Research Center, but don't let the name make you think we’re in some lab with white coats. We’re out here on the ground, mostly working with animals and looking at how to improve things on the farm. It’s a quiet place, and the work is slow but steady. We spend our days observing, taking notes, and mostly just taking care of the livestock. It’s more of a passion that turned into a small organization. We aren't doing this for the fame or the money; we just really care about the local breeds and keeping the traditional ways alive while learning a bit more about them. Sometimes we find things that work, and other times we don't, which is just how research goes in the real world. The village life suits us just fine. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment, just our eyes and some basic tools. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We like to think we’re doing something useful for the community by keeping these records and sharing what we find with our neighbors. It’s not a polished operation, just a few people who like being outdoors and working with nature. There isn't much more to it than that, just daily chores and learning.
