Santosh Sarbat Store

If you’re walking down Hospital Road in Rasta Town, you’ll see Santosh Sarbat Store. We are in Civil Lines, quite close to Narheji Degree College. This means we get a lot of students stopping by between their classes. The shop is small and very basic. We have a counter, some jars of colorful syrups, and a lot of ice. It’s a very simple business. We don't have air conditioning or fancy seating. Most customers just stand around the front or lean against their bikes while they drink their sarbat. Hospital Road is a very busy stretch with constant traffic and people going to the nearby clinics. It gets loud, but we’ve grown used to the chaos over the years. We don't do any big promotions. People just know where we are. Sometimes the lemon supply isn't great, or we run out of ice on a particularly hot day, and we just have to make do. It isn't a perfect setup, but it’s ours. We open up early to prep the syrups and clean the glasses. By the evening, we are usually exhausted from the constant flow of people. We aren't trying to be a big franchise. We just want to serve a decent drink to the people in our neighborhood. It’s a modest living, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now without feeling the need to change much.
