Sami Exports

Sami Exports is actually run out of Flat No. 301 in the Vighnahartha Apartments. We are located on Plot No. 31 in the Gittikhadan Layout, over in Pratap Nagar. It’s a bit unusual running an export business from an apartment building, but it works for us. We don't need a huge warehouse right here because we coordinate everything from our desks. Most of the day is spent on the phone or sending emails to different suppliers and shipping companies. The living room has basically been taken over by printers, stacks of paper, and a few filing cabinets. My wife helps me with the documentation because there is always so much of it. We have to keep things quiet so we don’t bother the neighbors in the other flats, but they’re mostly used to us by now. Sometimes a courier will come by three or four times a day, which can get a bit hectic. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything like that. It’s just a small family operation. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves, and it’s been a learning process every single day. There are times when the apartment feels too small for all the work we have to do, but we make it work. It’s a practical way to keep the overhead low while we manage the exports.
