Radhaswami Kirana

If you walk through the Market Yard in Dana Bazar, you’ll find Radhaswami Kirana. We are located right on Dana Bazaar Road in the Dhangarpura area. It’s a very busy part of town, especially in the mornings when all the supplies are being moved around. Shivaji High School is quite close to us, so we often see the students walking past in their uniforms. The shop is filled with everything you’d expect from a local kirana store. We have bags of flour, jars of spices, and all the daily staples stacked up on the wooden shelves. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock for the regulars. The floors are stone and the lights are those long tubes that flicker a bit sometimes. We don't have a checkout counter like the big supermarkets do; we just write things down and pack the bags by hand. It can get pretty noisy with the traffic from Dana Bazar right outside our door. Dhangarpura is a tight-knit community, and we know most of the faces that come in every day. It’s not a fancy place to shop, but we have what people need for their kitchens. Sometimes we have to move the heavy sacks around to find what a customer wants at the back. It’s just how we operate, keeping things simple and sticking to the basics of running a neighborhood store in a busy market.
