Priya General Store

Our little shop, Priya General Store, is right on Krantichowk Police Station Road. It is a busy little stretch of road. We are directly opposite Telephone Bhavan, which is the big building everyone knows in this part of Nutan Colony. Having the police station nearby makes the street feel safe, though the sirens can be a bit loud sometimes. Nutan Colony is a nice place to have a business because people actually live here and walk their dogs or take their kids to school. We see the same people every day. Some of them have been coming to us for a long time. The store isn't huge, but we pack a lot into the shelves. It is just a regular general store where you grab what you need and have a quick chat. The floor is a bit worn from all the foot traffic over the years. We keep the lights on late sometimes if people are still out and about. Across the street at Telephone Bhavan, there is always someone coming or going. It’s a good landmark to give people if they are lost. We don't have any big advertisements, just the name on the board above the door. It’s a simple life running a shop in a neighborhood like this. You get to know everyone’s business, and they get to know yours. It’s honest work, and we stay busy enough with the locals coming in for their daily bits and pieces.
