Prashad Publication

Our place is at Plot No. 533 in Ambedkar Nagar. We are right in front of Budh Vihar in Dharampeth. It’s a decent spot, a bit more breathing room than the really crowded parts of town. We’ve got this office where we handle all the publication details. It’s not very large, but we’ve made it work for us. There are shelves everywhere, filled with various editions we’ve worked on. Sometimes the sunlight comes in through the front window and hits the dust motes, making everything look a bit still for a second. Then the phone rings and it’s back to work. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the manuscripts get through the process. We spend a lot of time checking for mistakes and talking to printers. It can be tedious, but it’s the job. We know most of the people around here in Dharampeth. It’s nice being near Budh Vihar; it gives a bit of a landmark for people trying to find us. We don’t use any fancy management systems, just notebooks and a couple of old computers. We try to stay organized, but sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desks. It’s a quiet kind of busy. We just keep our heads down and try to get the books out on time without too much drama.
