Prakash Pandey

This is Prakash Pandey and I am located at the WCL Umrer Project in Nagpur district. My quarter number is 1C/23. If you’ve ever been out this way, you know it’s a bit of a trek from the main Nagpur city. It’s very much a project area, dominated by the mining work going on around here. Life in a WCL colony is a bit different. It has its own pace and its own set of rules. The air can get a bit dusty because of the project, and you see a lot of heavy vehicles moving around. My place is just one of the standard quarters provided here. It’s a simple living and working space. There’s no big corporate logo on the door. I just handle my business from this small corner of Maharashtra, zip code 441204. It gets incredibly hot here in the summer months, so most of the work happens early in the morning or late in the evening. People who live here are mostly connected to the project in one way or another. It’s a tight-knit community in a way. I don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. I just wake up, do my work, and try to keep things organized. It’s a basic life in a basic house. I’ve been here long enough that the noise of the machinery doesn't even bother me anymore. It’s just home and work all mixed into one.
