Pombhurna Mahila Poultry Producer Company Limited

We set this up here in Pombhurna, right in the Chandrapur district. It is a group of women working together on poultry stuff. Most of us live nearby and we use the space at Vinod Dhadore’s place to get things organized every day. It is not a big fancy office, just a practical spot to manage the birds and the business side of things. We started because it felt like a good way for local women to have something of their own to do in our village. Dealing with chickens is hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot here in Maharashtra, but we manage somehow. You can usually find someone around if you head over to the address near the post office. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that, just a bunch of folks trying to make this poultry thing work. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy and we are always learning as we go. It is mostly about getting the eggs and birds where they need to go without too much fuss or delay. Pombhurna is a quiet place and we like it that way. If you are ever passing through this part of Chandrapur, you will see how we have set things up. It isn't much to look at from the outside, but it is where we do our daily tasks. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It has been a long journey figuring out the logistics of local farming and sales.
