Paras Provision And General Store

Living and working on Nagpur Road in Gupta Nagar means you see a lot of people passing through. Paras Provision And General Store is basically a place where the local families get their groceries. We aren't a big supermarket or anything like that. It’s just me and sometimes my son helping out after he finishes his classes. We carry the basic stuff—flour, rice, different kinds of dals, and all the cleaning supplies people use at home. I spend a lot of my time making sure the sacks of grain are tied up properly so the damp doesn't get in. Sometimes the deliveries from the city are late because of the traffic on the main road, and then I have to explain to the regulars why their favorite brand of cooking oil isn't on the shelf yet. They usually understand because they live here too. The shop floor is a bit uneven and the paint is peeling in a few corners, but it works for us. We don't have fancy labels or a website. If someone needs something, they just walk in and ask. I like to keep a jar of sweets on the counter for the kids who come in with their mothers. It’s a small thing, but it makes the place feel more like home. We’ve seen the kids in this neighborhood grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own houses now.
