Paper Crafts

Down at number 26 in the New Cotton Market Layout, you will find our place. It’s right near the St Stand, so there is always a lot of movement outside. We deal with paper mostly. Stacks and stacks of it fill up the corners of our shop. It is a bit of a crowded area with all the market stalls around, but we like the energy of it. If you walk past the bus stand, you’ll probably see us working. We spend a lot of time cutting and folding and sorting through different batches. It’s not glamorous work, just something we do day in and day out. The dust from the paper gets on everything, but that’s just how it goes when you’re in this business. We have been in this spot for a while now, seeing the market change over the years. Some days it’s quiet, and other days the street is so packed you can hardly move. We just keep our heads down and get the crafts done. There is something about the way the paper feels that keeps us going. It’s simple, honest work. We don’t have any fancy signs or big displays. People just know where we are. We keep things organized as best as we can, but with paper, it’s always a bit of a struggle. Still, we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here in the market layout. It is where we belong and where we work best.
