Nitesh General Store

Nitesh General Store is tucked away in the Vishala Apartment building on Nanga Putala Road. We are in Shop No 08. Itwari is a very busy part of Nagpur, so there is always something going on outside. Being right besides Banarsi Bhandar helps people locate us because that place is quite well known. We have all the basic stuff you would expect to find in a neighborhood general store. We sell things like notebooks, pens, batteries, and different kinds of household cleaners. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside the shop because we have so many boxes stacked up. The area gets really crowded during the festival seasons, and sometimes it's hard to even walk on the pavement outside. We have been here for a good number of years now. It started small and we just kept adding more things as people asked for them. I usually spend most of my day here sitting on the stool and chatting with the regulars who come by for their daily needs. We don't use any fancy billing systems, just a simple book to keep track of things. My younger brother helps me with the deliveries if someone nearby needs a lot of heavy stuff. It’s just a normal way to earn a living in a city like this. We try to keep everything in stock so that customers don't have to go all the way to the bigger markets for small things. It keeps the business going.
