National Environmental Engineering Resurch Institute in Nagpur is located over at V-164 in Narendra Nagar. Even though the name sounds very official, our day-to-day life here is actually quite grounded. We spend a lot of time looking at data and doing research about the environment around Nagpur. The office in Narendra Nagar is where we gather to discuss our findings and figure out how to handle the latest environmental challenges. It’s not a place with shiny lab coats everywhere; it’s more of a working space filled with papers and folders. We have been focusing on things like air quality and water safety for the local area. The streets around here are usually busy, but once you step inside our building, it’s all about the work. We try to keep our English simple when we explain things to visitors because science can get confusing. We aren't trying to be famous researchers. We just want to provide some good information that might help make the city a little bit better to live in. Sometimes our equipment acts up or the electricity goes out, but we just wait it out and get back to it. It’s a slow process, doing research, and it takes a lot of patience. We just take it day by day, recording what we see and trying to make sense of the environment around us here in Nagpur. We don't have a big corporate lobby, just some chairs and a focus on our work.
