Mindtree Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is a small outfit we started right here in Palkhed. You can find us at H.No.374. It’s not much to look at, just a regular house where we keep our papers and meet up to talk shop. We’re a bunch of local farmers who realized that we could do a lot more if we stopped trying to do everything individually. In Palkhed, everyone knows everyone, so it made sense to just make it official. We aren't some big business with a bunch of bosses. We all put in the work and we all share the load. Mostly, we talk about the price of seeds or which tractor needs a part. It’s very practical stuff. We don't have any fancy goals other than just making sure we can keep our farms running. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the legal stuff that comes with being a company, but we help each other out with it. We’re just trying to get a better price for our crops and maybe save a little money on the things we have to buy every year. It’s a lot of manual labor and worrying about the rain, but that’s farming for you. We are just simple people from the village trying to make a living and look after our land. If you come by, you’ll just see us working or taking a break in the shade. That is the way it has always been.
