Madhur Kirana Store

If you find yourself in the Telipura area of Nagpur City, you will likely see us on the Main Road. Madhur Kirana Store is a typical local shop. We have been here in Nagpur for quite a while, serving the people who live around Savner and this part of the city. The store is filled with the smell of spices and grains because that is mostly what we handle. We buy in bulk and then sell things in smaller quantities to the families nearby. It’s a lot of scooping and weighing throughout the day. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dust from the bags of flour, no matter how much we sweep. We don’t have a fancy computer to track everything; we just use our eyes and our notebooks. Sometimes my sentences get a bit long but that is just how I talk. The heat in Nagpur can be tough in the summer, making the work a bit slower, but we stay open regardless. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us for years. They don't come for anything special, just the usual rice, lentils, and oil. Sometimes we chat about the weather or the price of onions, which seems to go up every week. It’s a simple routine of opening the shutters in the morning and closing them late at night. We don't have any big plans to expand or change things. We just want to keep the shop going and keep the shelves full for the neighborhood.
