Ramraj & Company

Ramraj & Company is based out of No. 105 in the Honey Basant Apartment. It is right near Mabedaker Chowk, which is always a bit of a scramble with the traffic and the street vendors. Living and working out of an apartment building means things are a bit cramped, but we make it work. We have turned the main room into an office with a few desks squeezed in next to each other. The walls are mostly covered with calendars and notes we’ve pinned up over the months. From the balcony, you can see everyone coming and going from the chowk. It gets noisy when there is a festival or just a regular busy Tuesday. We usually have a pot of water in the corner and a small stove for making coffee when we get tired. The floor is tiled and easy to sweep, which is good because people are always walking in with dust on their shoes. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing things down in our notebooks. It is a small operation, but we stay on top of the paperwork. Sometimes the neighbors complain if we have too many boxes in the hallway, so we try to move things quickly. It is just a regular office in a regular building. We don't have fancy furniture, just what is needed to sit and work comfortably.
