Durga Emporium is tucked away in Modi No. 3 in the Sitabuldi area. We have been in this spot for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things, and sometimes it feels like we’re running out of shelf space. It’s a bit cramped, especially when we get new deliveries in, but that’s just how it is in Sitabuldi. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or bright lights. We just keep the stock ready for whoever comes in. Mostly, it’s locals who have been buying from us for years, and we know many of them by their first names. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see different family members behind the counter depending on the time of day. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to stop by. Sometimes it gets really hectic during the festival seasons and the whole street is packed, while other times it's quiet enough to have a long chat with the neighbors. We just try to keep the shop running and make sure we have what people are looking for. It’s a simple life and a simple business, nothing more and nothing less. We’re just happy to be part of the local market here and keep going.
