Lakhandur Aadarsh Women Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Pimpalgaon, which is in the Lakhandur region. We operate out of house number 956, which belongs to M.S. Parshuramkar. It’s a women’s company, which makes it feel a bit different from some of the other places around here. We meet up at the house to talk about everything from our household chores to how the cotton or soy is doing. It’s a busy place, especially when the harvest is coming up. We don’t have a lot of expensive equipment or a polished office setup. We mostly just use the space we have to organize our bags and keep our documents in order. Living in a place like Lakhandur means we all know each other’s families and struggles. We decided to come together as a producer company to see if we could have a bit more say in how our crops are sold. It’s not easy being a farmer, and being a woman farmer has its own set of challenges. We share advice and help each other out whenever someone’s tractor is broken or someone needs extra hands for weeding. The house at Pimpalgaon is where the ideas happen. We aren’t looking to become some huge corporation. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and that our work in the dirt actually pays off at the end of the day. It’s simple, local work done by people who care about this village. We are just doing our best with what we have.
