Kasarkheda-Chikatna Agro Producer is run from Pratap Ramrao Shinde’s place in Kasarkheda. We are in the Latur district, which is a place that knows a lot about the ups and downs of farming. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can sit down and get the administrative stuff done. Most of the time, we’d rather be outside, but the company needs someone to keep track of the details. We talk to the local growers and try to plan out the next few months based on what the weather looks like. It’s a lot of guessing and a lot of hoping for the best, which is just the nature of this business. People come by Pratap’s house to drop off documents or just to see what’s new with the market prices. We don't have a big staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything. One day it’s accounting and the next it’s helping load a truck. Latur is a tough place to farm sometimes, but the people here are used to it. We just try to provide a central point where things can get organized. There’s no corporate polish here, just a lot of honest effort and a bit of dust. We are just local folks working together in Kasarkheda, trying to keep the company running as smoothly as we can for everyone involved.
