Out on Hingna Road, you'll find Kanchan Plastics at Plot No. P-64 in the M.I.D.C. zone. This part of town is all industry, so there’s always a lot of activity. We’ve been operating out of this plot for a good number of years. The building is a simple shed with a small office partitioned off at the front. We mostly make plastic components. It’s a lot of heat and molding. The machines run on a schedule, but things don't always go according to plan. We have to keep an eye on the power supply because it can be spotty sometimes. When the machines are running well, it’s a good feeling. We have about ten people working here. Most of them have been with us since the start. We aren't into fancy presentations or big sales pitches. If the product is okay, people come back. That's been our experience. We spend a lot of time on the shop floor checking the quality of the batches. It’s dusty work and by the end of the shift, everyone is ready to go home. We keep the place as clean as we can, but plastic scraps always find a way into the corners. It’s just a regular workshop where we work hard and try to stay fair with everyone who comes through the gate. If you’re driving down Hingna Road, you can’t miss the sign on the fence.
