Buffalo Bone Button Presentation

Buffalo Bone Button Presentation is located on Yerkheda Road. We are right in front of the Ismail Pura Society in Kamptee. Making buttons out of bone is a bit of a messy business, to be honest. There is a lot of dust from the grinding and the smell isn't always the best, but we’ve been doing it a long time so we don't notice it much anymore. The workshop is right on the road, so we see everyone passing by on their way into the society. We have a bunch of different machines for cutting and polishing the bone into the right shapes. It takes a lot of patience to get them looking right without them cracking. We usually have the front gates open to let some of the dust out and get some fresh air inside. It’s not the kind of place you’d want to wear your nice clothes to, because everything gets covered in a fine white powder by midday. We just wear our old work clothes and get to it. Kamptee can get really hot, and the machines don't help with that, but we have some big fans that we keep running all day. It’s a specific kind of work, and not many people do it this way anymore. We just keep our heads down and keep the grinders going until the day is done.
