Hardware Mall

Our shop, Hardware Mall, is located at Plot No. 8 in Mahajan Wadi. It’s right off Hingna Road, which is always busy with people going to work and coming back in the evenings. Inside, it smells like metal and cardboard most of the time. We have rows of shelves that we try to keep organized, but things always end up a bit out of place by the end of a long day. It’s not a very big space, so we have to stack things high. Sometimes you have to move three boxes just to find the one thing a customer asked for. The floor is concrete and shows every bit of dirt that people walk in from the street. We’ve got a small counter where we do all the billing, and the computer is a bit old, so it takes a minute to start up in the morning. When the sun hits the front window in the afternoon, it gets pretty warm in here, so we usually have a small fan running on the desk. There’s a tea stall just a few doors down where we get our morning chai. Most of the people who come in are regulars from around Wanadongri. They know where we are, right near the main residential area. We don't have a big sign, but people find us anyway. It’s just us here most days, counting inventory and helping whoever walks through the door with their projects.
