Golu Soda

Golu Soda is located at Thakre Chowk, right on Vidi Gharkul Road. We’re pretty close to the Gurukrupa Hotel, so if you find that, you’ve basically found us. The shop is a straightforward setup where we sell sodas and other bottled drinks. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s always a lot of dust and noise from the vehicles passing by. We spend a good chunk of our time just keeping the place clean and making sure the bottles are sorted. It’s a local business, through and through. We don't have any corporate backing or fancy equipment. Most of our tools for opening bottles or mixing things are well-worn from years of use. We know most of the people who live in the surrounding houses. They come by for a chat as much as they do for a drink. The light in the shop isn’t great, but it’s enough to see what we’re doing. We don’t try to be anything more than a neighborhood soda shop. Sometimes we run out of a certain flavor and have to tell people to wait until the next delivery, which happens. It’s just part of running a small place like this. We like being at the Chowk because there’s always something to see. It’s a humble business, but it keeps us busy and we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home. We just open the shutters and see what the day brings.
