Down in Old Resham Oli, things move at their own pace. Gangaram Narayandas And Sons has been part of the Itwari scene for a long time, and we’ve seen the market change through many seasons. It’s a narrow area, and it gets pretty packed with people and carts moving back and forth all day. Our place isn't very large, but it’s filled with history and a lot of old ledgers from years back. We aren't the type to use fancy computers for everything; we still like the old-fashioned way of doing business where a person’s word means something. Being in Itwari means dealing with the heat and the crowds, but there’s a certain energy here that you don’t find in the newer parts of town. My brothers and I take turns managing the floor and talking to the folks who come in looking for stuff. We don’t have a big mission statement or any of that modern talk. We just want to make sure the family name stays respected by doing a decent day's work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound, but it feels like home to us. It’s just a traditional family business where we handle things the way our father taught us. If you’re ever walking through Resham Oli, you’ll see us there, just working away like always.
