Ganga Provision

The shop is right on Nandanvan Main Road, at Plot No.253. Being opposite the Bank of Maharashtra means we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. It's a busy spot in Nandanvan Colony. We've been running Ganga Provision for a good while now. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights or big signs. It’s just a regular store where you can get your daily things like rice, dal, and soaps. Every morning we open up the shutters and sweep the front. The Nagpur heat can be a bit much in the summers, so we try to keep the place as cool as we can with just a couple of fans. We know most of the people who walk in by their names because they live just a few houses away. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we have to tell people to come back later for their specific brand of tea or flour. It’s just how it is. My family helps out behind the counter when things get a bit rushed in the evenings. We keep a ledger for the regulars and try to make sure the shelves aren't empty. There is always some noise from the traffic outside, but you get used to it. We just focus on keeping the basic groceries in stock so nobody has to go too far for a packet of salt or some biscuits. It is a lot of work keeping everything organized.
