Neelkanth Textiles

You will find Neelkanth Textiles at Block No 44, right behind Memant Saree. We are located on Jajnath Road in the Gandhibagh area of Nagpur. This part of the city is famous for cloth, and we are right in the thick of it. The street is always blocked with rickshaws and carts full of fabric rolls. Our block is a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the Memant Saree shop first to find us. It is a warehouse-style setup inside. We have rows and rows of textiles stacked up to the ceiling. It smells like fresh cotton and dye in here. We spend most of our day measuring out lengths of cloth or counting bundles. It is a physical job. My back usually hurts by the end of the day from lifting the heavy rolls. We do not have any fancy displays or mannequins. It is just the raw material. The light is not great inside, but we know where everything is kept. Gandhibagh is a tough place to work because it is so crowded and hot. We just keep the water jug full and keep working. Sometimes customers come in looking for something specific and we spend an hour digging through the piles to find it. We have been doing this for years now. It is not glamorous work, but it is what we know. We close up the block late in the evening once the street starts to quiet down.
