About Bhagyarekha Bhiwapuri Masale Association – Food & Beverages in Nagpur
Our association is over at Plot No. 18 in Giddoba Nagar, which is part of the Wathoda layout. We focus on Bhiwapuri masale, which is something we take pretty seriously. The building is simple and mostly used for grinding and storing the spices. You can smell the chili and the spices from a block away. It’s a strong scent that stays on your clothes long after you leave the office. We have a few big machines that do the heavy work of crushing everything down. It gets pretty loud when they are all running at the same time. The Wathoda area is mostly residential and small shops. We have people coming in and out all day to check on the spice batches. We aren't a massive factory. It’s more of a group of us working together to keep the local spice traditions going. The floors are usually stained with different colors from the turmeric and the peppers. We don't have any fancy furniture or a big boardroom. We usually just sit on stools and talk about the next shipment. It’s a lot of dusty, hard work, but we are used to it. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just make the masale and people in the area know where to find us. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if we sneeze a lot.
