We are located at Plot No. 82 in the Atkar Layout, right by the Dighori Udan Pool Chowk. Having the flyover right there means there’s a constant hum of vehicles passing over us. It’s a busy part of the city, and the dust from the road often settles on our front windows, so we have to clean them every morning. Inside, it smells mostly of dried herbs and various ayurvedic preparations. We have rows of jars and boxes lining the walls from floor to ceiling. Some of the labels are a bit faded, but we know exactly where everything is kept. The space isn’t huge, but we’ve made the most of it with some custom-built wooden racks. We have a small desk where we handle the billing, and sometimes the drawer sticks if you pull it too hard. Many people come to us looking for specific traditional remedies, and we spend time helping them find what they need. The lighting is a bit dim towards the back, but we have a torch for when we need to look deep into the shelves. It’s a humble place, and we don’t put on any acts. We are just here to provide medicine to whoever comes to the Atkar Layout area. Sometimes we sit outside on a plastic stool during the quiet hours in the evening. It’s a decent place to work, and we get along with the other shopkeepers in the layout.
