Anita General Store

Anita General Store is a small shop on Bajeria Road, specifically at Shop No. 5. We are right opposite the Haj House here in Nagpur, so it is a pretty easy landmark for anyone trying to find us. We have been in this 440018 area for quite a long time. The store is filled with all kinds of stuff, from tea leaves to cleaning supplies. It is a bit cramped inside because we try to stock as much as possible for the locals. My wife and I handle most of the work ourselves. We get up early to open the shutters and stay until the last customer leaves at night. It is a busy road, so there is always someone stopping in for a pack of biscuits or some sugar. We do not have any fancy computer systems; we just write everything down in our ledger. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it is quiet, just watching the people go by toward the Haj House. It is a simple business, nothing too complicated. We try to keep the prices fair so people keep coming back. If the rain is heavy, sometimes the water comes near the step, but we manage. People know they can find us here every day. It is just a regular part of life for us in Bajeria. We take it one day at a time.
