Shafa Commodities

Shafa Commodities is located at No. 6B Rajapathai in the Vattavilai area of Kottar. We are a small business that focuses on various commodities, mostly things that come from the land around here. Our warehouse is often full of bags stacked high toward the ceiling. It can get pretty warm in there during the middle of the day, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early when it’s still cool. Rajapathai is a street we know well, and we’ve seen it change over the years, though our little corner stays much the same. We spend our time checking the quality of what comes in and making sure it goes out to the right people at the right time. There isn't anything fancy about how we operate. We use a lot of basic tools and do a lot of things by hand. The office is just a small room off to the side where we keep the books and take calls. Sometimes local farmers come by to see if we are buying, or to just talk about how the season is going. It’s a modest way to make a living, but we are proud of being part of the trade in Kottar. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done. The humidity can be tough, but we manage.
