Kalwakurthy Mango Farmers Producer Company Limited

We’re over at H No 16-95, right by the Old Bas Standkalwakurthy. It’s a busy little corner, and you can usually find some of us hanging around there during the day. This is the Kalwakurthy Mango Farmers Producer Company Limited. It sounds like a big, formal name, but really it’s just a group of us who have our own orchards and decided it was better to work together than try to do everything alone. We’ve got this old building near the bus stand where we meet up. It’s not very modern, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. When mango season hits, it gets really crowded with crates and people coming in and out. There’s a lot of noise and shouting, but it’s all in good fun. We spend most of our time talking about the trees, the pests, and how the fruit is looking this year. We don’t have a fancy marketing team or anyone to write nice speeches for us. We just know how to grow mangoes and we want to make sure we get them to market without losing too much money. Sometimes things don’t go perfectly, like when a truck is late or the price drops suddenly, but that’s just life in farming. We just keep at it and help each other out when someone’s crop is having trouble. It is a simple way to work and it keeps us busy.
