Power Tek

Our shop is at 60 Neela West Street. It’s a narrow building, and we use every inch of it. We work on power systems and electrical stuff. If you walk in, you’ll probably see wires and components spread out over the workbenches. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. The front door stays open most of the day to let in some air, so we hear everything happening out on the street. Neela West is a busy place with a lot of foot traffic. We’ve got regulars who drop by just to chat or ask for advice on a project. We don’t have a fancy counter; it’s just an old wooden table where we take the cash and write out receipts. The walls are lined with shelves full of parts that have been there for ages. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. Most days are spent fixing things that people bring in or assembling small units. We take our time with the work because getting the wiring wrong isn't an option. It’s a bit dark in the back, so we use some heavy-duty lamps. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing technical work in a small shop on a busy street. It gets hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and keep at it until the jobs are finished.
