Our place is in Murugan Nagar, which is part of Melaiyur in the Mayiladuthurai area. It’s a bit far out if you’re coming from the bigger cities, but we like the pace here in Nagapattinam. The address is 5/85 and it’s a simple building that doesn't stand out much from the houses around it. Ataraxysoft Technology Private Limited is basically just a bunch of us who are good with computers and wanted to work somewhere that wasn't a crowded metro. We don't have a HR department or a marketing team. We just have people who know how to code and fix things. Usually, you’ll find us sitting around the main table with laptops open. Since we are in a smaller town, everyone knows everyone else. Sometimes neighbors stop by just to say hello or ask for help with something small. We don't mind. It makes the day go by faster. The power goes out sometimes, so we have a backup generator that makes a lot of noise, but it keeps us going. We don’t have fancy slogans or big posters on the walls. We just have some whiteboards with messy writing and a lot of empty tea cups. It’s a honest way to work and we feel lucky to be able to do this kind of technology stuff right here in our own community without moving away.
